PERSPECTIVE #4

What was the last war won on defense alone?
How about a football game?  Baseball? Basketball? Soccer?

If the answer is “none” (and it IS, BTW), then I have a question:

What makes you think that the fight to preserve our Constitution, the fight to preserve our freedom, our liberty, our NATION, can be won by defense, alone?

Don’t get me wrong: defense is EXTREMELY important. A boxer in the ring can be as strong and fast as any of the greatest, but if he can’t defend himself, he will lose. Period.

Offense AND defense are equals in importance. One cannot win without relative measures of both.

So, I’ll ask:

If we Conservatives spend all our time on the defense, how can we reasonably expect to win this war of ideologies?

To be blunt: we can’t.

I applaud the efforts of so many Americans, who are speaking up, countering lies, getting the truth out. We are engaged, right now, in the fight to preserve our Constitution, our Bill of Rights and our Declaration of Independence; those documents that serve as the foundation for the greatest country in history. Our freedoms, our liberty, our prosperity are rooted in the principles contained within those documents and defended by not only our military forces, but all of us as well.

Defense is not enough.

Be on the attack. ALWAYS advance. Put THEM on the defense.

Want to understand the proper frame of mind? Take a lesson from General George S. Patton, addressing the Third Army:

When a man is lying in a shell hole, if he just stays there all day, a Boche will get him eventually. The hell with that. My men don't dig foxholes. Foxholes only slow up an offensive. Keep moving. We'll win this war, but we'll win it only by fighting and showing the Germans that we've got more guts than they have or ever will have. We're not just going to shoot the bastards, we're going to rip out their living goddamned guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We're going to murder those lousy Hun cocksuckers by the bushel-fucking-basket.”
