INDEPENDENCE DAY 2017

THE FOURTH OF JULY, 2017

If you haven’t figured out, by now, that we are in a state of civil war, that our Constitution is under attack, that our freedom and liberty are, at this very moment, in danger of being lost forever, then, my friends, you’d BETTER wake up!

Socialism, for the last 80-or-so years, has quietly crept into our government; undermining our Constitution and the Bill of Rights and insinuating itself into the fabric of every aspect of our society. Adherents move slowly, cautiously, under the guise of “compassion for the needy, the poor and the minority”, and build the framework of a Socialist state; rather, a cage.

The Declaration of Independence, adopted on July 4th, 1776, set in motion the circumstances for what was to become the greatest and freest society in history. We broke with the Crown, becoming a free people who previously were subjects.

That freedom, that liberty, spelled out and memorialized in The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and Bill of Rights, required, from time to time, the sacrifice of patriots, willing to kill and lay down their lives in defense of that shared idea, that shared dream. Wars of words as well as of rounds have kept that shared idea, that dream, alive.

Today, we again are at war. Today, we stand at a crossroad and must decide whether that shared idea is worth defending. Our freedom, our liberty, our future, hang in the balance.

And now, each and every moment, we must decide.

Is freedom worth the fight? Is liberty worth the words? Are our Founding Documents worth preserving, defending even to the death? Do we squander and render meaningless the sacrifice of those who paid the price for us?

Our enemy is Socialism, as well as those who espouse that misguided ideology. Those advocates are relentless in their pursuit. They will never accept defeat. They will never stop. They will never rest until our Founding Documents are relegated to a mere footnote in history.

We have NO choice, if those Founding Documents are to remain relevant. The price for losing or refusing to engage is captivity.

Let this, and every, Fourth of July (indeed, EVERY DAY, with EVERY BREATH) renew our spirit of patriotism. And let us prepare to defend our freedom and liberty with our very lives.

HAPPY FOURTH, EVERYONE!
