A question about the Martin case

Did you hear?

Evidently, the prosecutors in the George Zimmerman trial attempted to have certain information, relating to the case, disallowed. Fortunately, they were denied.

The information?

According to the coroner's report, Martin had smoked marijuana before the confrontation between he and Zimmerman; in quantities sufficient to impair judgement.

My question:

I thought the truth was being sought here? Evidently not.

After all: if it had been found that Zimmerman had been the one smoking dope before the attack, should THAT information be disallowed?
