Letter to The Orange County Register

Folks, please check out this article and, if you are so inclined, write letters to the OC Register...

Your article "Color-code IDs draw support..." offers a wonderful example of the frightening reality of Liberalism.

Kennedy High School's (a public school) inception of color-coded IDs (in which the colors reflect performance on standardized testing) fits part and parcel with the kind of legislated discrimination for which The Democratic Party is historically known.

Democrats, throughout the history of the United States, have consistently selected out segments of society (at their choosing) and penned legislation, separating that segment, legally, from the rest of society. Blacks, women, the unborn....all have been the targets of Liberlism's social engineering and the hatred of the citizenry by The Democratic Party.

This time, it would seem, the rally cry is "target low-achieving students!"

With the new color-coded IDs, the whole world can identify you, based on your standardized test score. And, also based on the color of your ID, students are entitled to certain privileges or assigned detriment (from special lunch lines to discounts, etc) at the school. (One has to wonder how Rosa Parks might feel about this...).

Now, some might argue that, if this is "legislated discrimination", then so are "honor rolls". Nope. Sorry: "honor rolls" are based on VOLUNTARY achievement.

WAY too often, the stigma of "Nazi!" or "Hitler!" is placed upon people (nearly all the targets are Republicans; nearly all the accusers Democrats).

Well, once upon a time, a segment of society was identified, with a patch on their clothing, by their race. Then, it was "Jude". Now, a segment of society, THIS TIME WITHIN THE LIBERAL UTOPIA OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS, is identified by their ability to take tests...

Isn't this the country that vowed "NEVER AGAIN!"?

WTF. Ive never heard of this. I am speechless to find that this sort of thing is ACTUALLY happening in real life, and in my lifetime. If this actually happened when I was in school, it wouldve been horrible. Whatever the Color Code wouldve been for people who sucked at tests, and certain subjects in general, (I will say that I am Asian, and the stereotype of us being good at math does NOT apply here) I wouldve been wearing that color and who knows what the ramifications wouldve been for that, for me. Being Asian, people ASSUMED I was a good student, and thereby treated me like that..I liked that. Inevitably, the kids cheating off my math tests would get their grades back and haha the joke was on them for believing every stereotype they heard... I mightve earned a few of them a D or so I suppose.. but back to the point.. this BRANDING of the "stupid kids" and "smart kids" for the world to see and judge and thereby TREAT as such is a ridiculous idea, obviously thought up by parents of those "smart kids" in order to brag to the world of their brilliant offspring. Being that I was one of those "not to smart kids" back in the day, the days where this sort of thing could really FREAK a kid out and traumatize them into who knows what, I am offended, relieved and scared at the same time. I wouldve gone home crying everyday and possibly cutting (if that were the thing back then) after a day of having a "smart kid" stare at me over the cookie they were rewarded for being so great at taking tests, feeling superior to my cookie-less ass. I think people forget how hard it is already being a kid, feeling insecure and insufficient enough as it is. Why would you give them ANOTHER reason to hate themselves and feel ashamed, ESPECIALLY in an environment meant to foster LEARNING and instilling self confidence? Isnt that the OPPOSITE? UNLESS youre blessed enough to be intelligent and lucky enough to have the support at home from your parents, helping you with your homework, hiring a tutor if need be, which would also make this a socioeconomic issue too. Maybe for THOSE kids this is a great idea, a way to inflate their heads some more of how "special" they are, and priveleged.. ok, sorry, I am venting now, this issue is hitting close to home for me, a kid this wouldve affected in a negative way obviously.. Id write a letter to the OC Register, but my 'spellcheck' isnt working. ..
